How can I remove incorrectly applied coating off the paint?

You applied the coating a few moments ago, and you see some residue of the product which had not been buffed properly? Don’t worry! Try one of these 3 simple tricks, and you will sort it out!

  • If you finished the application not more than 2 hours ago, you could try to reapply the coating on the panel. Solvents contained in the products may dissolve some of the remaining flashings. Wait 30-60 sec and buff off the residue like it was the first application. Job done!
  • If you were not lucky enough to see the missed spot under 2 hours but no more than 24 hours passed you can still try to remove the flashings using Wipe It! or other strong final inspection liquid. In some cases, pure IPA will also work. Remember though to reapply the coating on the corrected surface!
  • If more than 24 hours passed and both of the above methods do not work, you need to grab the polishing machine and remove it by using finishing pad and paste. Same as above, remember about reapplying the coating on the repolished panel!

Important note: Ultracoat coatings can be easily reapplied in the required spots. It will not make it look different, the colour and shine will remain the same as on the rest of the panels.
